    Fabulous

Perfect location. Staff - very helpful. Great view from rooftop pool.

The hotel needs a deep cleaning/painting. It has a lot of potential- just a bit beat up looking.

Very good location, the size of the suite was impressive but the furnishings were shabby and the rooms lacked any character. The staff were bordering on unhelpful and uncommunicative and did little more than grunt at us whenever we came in.

    Good

Walking down the streets of SB is great! The people watching is wonderful. It is a very expensive town, but worth it. Great beach.

The hotel was pretty old, but was being fixed up. They are adding a club to the 2nd floor, so I won't be styng there anymore. It will be too loud and change the place. The reception area is not ready and is off on the side of the building. The place was not all that clean.

    Very good

the location of the hotel is really good. also Mr. Carlos who is in the front desk is really helpful. but the rooms should be more cleaner

    Superb

Well appointed and large suites with a balcony overlooking South Beach. Perfect location but undergoing renovation (the lobby is in the lower level as the main reception area is undergoing renovation). Therefore, currently no lobby bar or on-premises food. Once renovations are complete, the place could be perfect, although the suite couldhave used a coat of paint.

    Superb

Fantastic location, nice and friendly staff, nice and big appartments for a family, good value for money

the kitchen was poorly equiped, don't calgulate on cooking - there is a microwaveoven, 3 bowls, 5 knives and 2 forks :-)

    Location

Very noisy room due to constratin starting at 8am every morning. No housekeeping service - the room was cleaned only once - before we arrived. One more "positive" item - the elevator was not functioning for 2 days and we had to move all our suitecases from 5th floor down to lobby using stairs.

    Fabulous

Nice large living area. Location was superb.

    Renovation was not really finished.

The apartment is perfect when traveling with family. The location is a plus. Definitely I would stay here again.

    Fabulous

The location was what made the trip pleasurable, close to all that you need to do in South Beach. I would stay there in the future.

The staff was friendly and helpful when we inquired on activities in the area. The location could not have been anymore perfect!

This was a very enjoyable stay - right on Ocean Drive.

    Superb

The staff where really helpful, good sized apartment with large bedrooms. Good view of the beach and in walking distance to the nightlife!

    Fabulous

The room was spacious with many amenities. The location is fantastic for going to the beach, shopping, and walking to restaurants and night life in South Beach. The rooftop pool and view is a huge plus.

There was no bar at the rooftop pool. The two huge closets in the room only had two hangers between both of them. We asked for more hangers and were given more. There was a lot of noise outside the back of the hotel - garbage trucks, construction, weather. A thicker window would be helpful. No view from our room.

    Fabulous

Casanova Suites is all about location. If you are in it for a South Beach vacation that is not as insanely overpriced as everywhere else in the area, this is probably your best bet. The rooms are spacious and appliances in the kitchen quite new. A bit of hardware was missing in the bathrooms (one of the knobs on the sink was missing its logo--didn't affect function, just appearance and the shower drain had been taken out--again, didn't really matter, as the rest of the bathroom was nice), but nothing that got in the way of our stay. Marble tile, granite countertops and great water pressure; nice bedding and high quality (high thread count) sheets as well, and a walk-in closet in the bedroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Compared to other places in the same price range, this is an excellent find and I would definitely stay there again.

People used to chain hotels will need to get in touch with the "boutique hotel" vibe--i.e. think Europe in terms of a smaller, less uniform feel to where you're staying; less predictability. They were still doing a lot of renovations in the lobby, so it's a bit unfair to criticize, but the elevator was very slow and old (hence, why they're refurbishing it). The lobby is small but functional (certainly not a lobby you need to sit around in), and was a bit musty when we were there. Because the elevator was so sub-par, we often opted for the stairs, which were smelly, poorly lit and a bit dirty. Since they're meant for an emergency exit, it really shouldn't matter that they're that way--so perhaps that criticism is a bit much. I was traveling with friends and we stayed up all night laughing. But if I had been traveling with small children, I don't think I would have liked it (we were probably noisy to others trying to sleep). For that matter, I probably wouldn't do South Beach with small children--it's all about bars, staying up late, and skimpy bikinis and thongs. That's more preference than criticism. Finally, I would give a measured critique on price: Casanova's price is actually excellent compared to others in its area. However in another location, I would expect more for what we paid. I guess it's the same if you're staying anywhere urban and desirable--you're just not going to get the same hotel for your money as you would in, say, the suburbs where there is less to see. One other thing: balconies in the "non-view" rooms are not really balconies. They're more "stick your nose out, crank your head over the alley to catch a glimpse of the ocean" balconies. We expected this, though, and enjoyed the view instead from the rooftop lounge/pool area.
